Townsville Custom Cabinets grew out of a simple belief that people in North Queensland deserve cabinetry built for how they actually live. With no IKEA showroom north of Brisbane, locals were too often left choosing between fixed flat-pack module sizes and cabinetry that never quite fitted their space. We set out to change that with true made-to-measure joinery, cut and built in our own workshop. From renovating dated kitchens in the character Queenslanders around Hyde Park and Mundingburra to fitting out new-build homes in Kirwan, Kelso and Deeragun, we have worked across the full spread of Townsville housing. Along the way we learned exactly how the tropical climate treats cabinetry, and we build for it rather than around it. Today we are a local team that measures, builds and installs every project ourselves. That end-to-end approach is how we keep the quality consistent from the first sketch to the final soft-close drawer.

The business is led hands-on by Steve Smith, who has spent more than 12 years designing and building custom cabinetry across Townsville and North Queensland. Steve has worked on everything from full kitchen renovations to built-in wardrobes, laundries, vanities and bespoke joinery, in both older highset homes and new estate builds. He is still on the tools and on site for the jobs we take on, so the person planning your project is the same person making sure it is built and installed to standard. That local, hands-on experience means practical advice grounded in the conditions of this region, not generic showroom promises.
